To protect and promote the unalienable rights of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," government should be committed to these four core principles.
1. Ensure a Compassionate Responsible Environment that Advances Freedom for All Citizens
• Civil discourse and respect – the key that opens the door, making everything else possible
• Lean government that adds value… disciplined spending
• Secure jobs in energy sector, manufacturing, technology, while encouraging innovation in new technologies
• Stewardship of the environment - Our waters and lands are gifts to be appreciated, enjoyed, used for our benefit, restored, preserved and improved
• Accessible higher education and trade school
• Simplified, fair tax code – Everyone should pay their fair share
2. Provide Safety
• Strong defense, military deterrent
• Trusted police, integrated within community
• Secure borders… immigration philosophy that is fair and rational, welcomes immigrants with respect and dignity who want to contribute to our economy and culture as described in these core principles
• Right of citizens to be armed and regulated to defend themselves
• Energy and critical supply chain independence
3. Ensure Justice – The Rule of Law
• No One is above the law
• Equitable enforcement of laws and sentencing… We must have safeguards to protect the innocent when an otherwise just system fails because of the flawed nature of its citizens.
4. Protect and Improve our National Character and Integrity
• Dignity of Life (Cradle to Grave): I am neither Pro-Life nor Pro-Choice… trust the science… We all believe it is a human life, at some point. The question is when. I am pro-young mother confronted with an unwanted pregnancy. I am pro-policies that help her have confidence that if she keeps the unborn child/fetus she will be supported with healthcare, childcare and a job that can support a young family
• Health: maintain current system … while addressing gaps and affordability
• Hope: develop leaders who possess a certain nobility, a largeness of soul, and qualities of human excellence worth imitating and striving for
